The Next Generation of Dining
From a local patron of the restaurant in his youth to the now-owner, Chef Shannon Sturz is guiding The Ancient Mariner to a new era of dining. With him, he's brought experience in elevated cuisine as a sous-chef at The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges in New York and as an executive chef at Seamore's in Darien.
While nurturing the Ancient Mariner's staple items and aurora of old-school hospitality, Chef Shannon is guiding the American menu towards French cuisine, seafood, and homemade baked goods. These exciting new dishes will include ethically and locally sourced ingredients.
